WHAT IS A CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN?
Whilst physical or mineral sunscreens act like a shield, chemical sunscreens are the sponge. They work by absorbing UV rays, turning them into heat and then releasing them through the skin. Their active ingredients allow for lightweight formulas that are easy to apply and reapply – proving a broader range of textures and finishes on the skin.
IS A CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN BETTER?
Most people will sit in one camp or the other for various reasons, however what a lot of people don't know is that physical sunscreens are not too different from its chemical counterpart. Physical sunscreens will absorb 95% of rays and reflect 5% of UV rays, whereas chemical sunscreens will absorb 100% of the UV rays.
One is no better than the other at protection; which one you pick is totally up to you and your skin needs.
