WHAT IS A MINERAL SUNSCREEN?
With active ingredients Zinc Oxide or Titanium Oxide, mineral sunscreens (otherwise known as physical sunscreens) create a shield-like barrier on the skin to reflect and deflect UV rays away. Traditionally sticky, thick, and smelly sunscreens we opt to not use daily, we wanted to create new-gen mineral sunscreens that felt like skincare, lightweight and suitable for everyone.
With not one, but two options on the shelf, we have a mineral sunscreen for everyone. Our most loved Mineral Mousse SPF50+ is a lightweight, barely-there cream with a formula like no other. Designed for an oilier complexion, she leaves a velvet-matte finish to the skin, with zero fragrance.
Our other mineral sunscreen is Pretty in Zinc SPF50+. Loaded with niacinamide, this hydrating cream is great for sensitive or acne-prone skins wanting a dose of daily hydration and Zen. Leaving the skin with a natural, second skin feel, she is lightweight and fragrance-free.
WHO ARE MINERAL SUNSCREENS FOR?
Praised for their ability to provide immediate protection after application, thanks to their shield-like abilities, they are great for our sensitive skin gals with low-irritant formulas less likely to cause reactions or trigger skin concerns.
Recommended by dermatologists, they’re easy and suitable to use post-treatments or when skin is at its most vulnerable.
IS A MINERAL SUNSCREEN BETTER?
Most people will sit in one camp or the other for various reasons, however what a lot of people don't know is that mineral sunscreens are not too different from its chemical counterpart. Mineral sunscreens will absorb 95% of rays and reflect 5% of UV rays, whereas chemical sunscreens will absorb 100% of the UV rays.
One is no better than the other at protection; which one you pick is totally up to you and your skin needs.
