A MAKE-UP ARTIST'S HACK TO MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR GLOWING SPF

We were incredibly lucky to have the talented Penny Antuar join us for our latest Glow range campaign photoshoot. With over two decades of makeup experience and a background in beauty therapy, Penny is renowned for her effortless natural style and signature looks that have graced countless photoshoots and the backstage scenes of New York, Paris, and Australian Fashion Weeks.

As a leading voice in the beauty industry and one of Australia’s most in-demand makeup artists, Penny shares her expert advice on combining SPF and makeup— because who better to learn from than an expert in both beauty and skin health?

HOW DO YOU REAPPLY SPF THROUGHOUT THE DAY?

“If you want to reapply your SPF during the day, a little tip I have is to apply some to a sponge. The Kitology sponges are perfect for this. Just add a little bit of SPF and then bounce it over your face and it will not interrupt your makeup! It’s the easiest way to reapply SPF throughout the day.”

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR LAYERING SPF UNDER YOUR MAKEUP?

“My biggest tip for using SPF under makeup is to have a play beforehand assess the underlying ingredients will either play well together or they won’t. Just have a play before you go in too hard. Usually on the back of hand, I like to layer an SPF with whatever foundation I want and just see if it works well together. You’ll be pretty safe on the face once it works in your hand!”

HOW WOULD YOU USE AIRYDAY'S NEW SPF GLOW RANGE?

“I can use all 3 shades into a make-up look – I like to use Pearl Glow SPF50+ on the high points of the skin, so you get that nice pearlescent glow. I like to use Golden Glow SPF50+ over the entire face, as it’s just a beautiful global glow that you can really get and it’s beautiful under foundation, so that will be safe and play well with (most) foundations. The Bronze Glow SPF50+ is really good if you want to add a little bit of depth to the skin, with a sun-kissed touch to the skin so it can really amp up a look and make it super bronzy!”
